Townhomes at Beachtown

Beachtown showcased in Historic Homes Tour for 2nd Year

For the second year in a row, one of the Beachtown residences was on last month’s Galveston Historic Home Tour.

Like last year’s Coastal Living Magazine’s Idea House, the Positano townhome was a show case of a new home honoring Galveston’s architectural heritage.

The tour was a success as expected and numerous amounts of visitors had an opportunity to walk through the Positano Townhomes nestled along a nature preserve in Beachtown’s Village One. Beachtown was grateful to partner with the Galveston Historical Foundation again. New Urban Guild architect Eric Brown designed the townhomes which reflects the time honored architectural traditions of Historic Galveston.

Both the exterior and interior of the townhomes have received public acclaim and recognition. The interiors are welcoming and beach living is experienced throughout. The floors are comprised of beautifully cut travertine, 4-inch pecan hardwood, and/or seagrass carpet. The tasteful kitchen cabinetry is complemented with high-end Viking appliances in the residence. The kitchen countertops are silestone and the bathroom countertops are marble. All of the fixtures and faucets are from Kohler.

This townhome is outfitted with all the modern luxuries including Audio/Video wire throughout, central vacuum, and elevators that can take you to any floor.

Beachtown continues to claim the seamless blend of historic architecture with modern amenities along with simple beach living.

Evia Bathed in the Colors of the Coast

Flowers and new homes bloom with color!

As Galveston Island welcomes another summer season, Evia is awash with the color of the island! Evia is a feast for the eyes with blooming magnolia tress, rose bushes, Oleanders and Crepe Myrtles. In addition, Evia is the home of many of our native island inhabitants – cotton-tailed Jack rabbits, Mallard families and many of the nesting and migratory birds that Islanders enjoy.

There are many new homes, filling the community with hues of yellow, blue, green and various coastal colors that are ready to welcome those who want to call this island community “home”!

“The landscape in Evia has been really impressive this spring and summer,” comments Kelley Sullivan of Evia Partners. “The trees and flowering bushes thrived after our cold winter and they are coming back more vibrant and lush than ever.  This is the perfect time for new homeowners to become a part of our neighborhood – we have the most wonderful owners who love living in Evia and are happy to share their Islander Spirit!”
Evia continues to emerge as the example of a Traditional Neighborhood District, exemplified by the fact that Evia is also protected by the Galveston Seawall.  Evia was fortunate to be the only new community on Galveston Island that had no flooding in the homes during Hurricane Ike in 2008.  The neighborhood serves as a tribute to historical architecture seen in old southern cities such as Galveston, New Orleans or Charleston. The natural aspects of Evia, with the hike-and-bike trails around the lakes and the migrating waterfowl, make Evia a destination for naturalists who want to observe one of the island’s only fresh-water habitats.
The Village Pool and Cabana as well as Curiosity Cove, the children’s park, incorporates the traditional sense of “neighborhood” for those who live in and visit Evia. Sugar Bean Coffee and Cream, the neighborhood coffee house and gelato café, can be found in the Village Center and is open daily.
They offers a variety of coffees, teas, fruit smoothies, authentic Italian gelato, beer and wine, fresh-baked breakfast items!
In addition, Sugar Bean is available for private events such as wedding or baby showers, group training and meetings. Sugar Bean Coffee and Cream can be reached at 409-974-4473.

There are a variety of single-family homes available, offering 2,000 square feet to over 4,000 square feet.  Most homes are open each weekend for viewing and you can visit with the Realtors from The House Company, Sand N Sea Properties and Joe Tramonte Realty in the Evia Information Center. These real estate professionals have access to the most up-to-date availability in Evia.
In addition to the single-family homes, the Town Cottages in Evia are situated with spectacular views of The Moody Gardens Golf Course.  Owners enjoy the convenience of a “maintenance-free home” where the association cares for everything on the exterior of the home, including the required property, flood and windstorm insurance.  The homes are between 2,000 and 2,300 and offer 3 bedrooms with a ground-floor master suite and two-car garage with private back or side yards.  “These homes happen to be incredibly popular for both primary and secondary homeowners,”comments Billy Sullivan of Evia Partners, LP.“People want simplicity and convenience and the town cottages offer both. It is truly a home where you arrive, turn the key and enjoy!”

For information on Evia, contact 409-744-5555 or log on to www.eviagalveston.com. The Evia Information Center is open every afternoon and is located at 13 Evia Main.  Travel on Seawall Boulevard to 89th Street and take a right. Travel to Stewart Road and take a left.  Evia is located by taking 99th Street from Stewart Road and traveling straight to the main entrance across from the Moody Gardens Golf Course on Galveston Island.
